This is the web site for the Holocaust Torah Restoration Fund project spearheaded by James Ayton, a Rhinebeck High Schooler and member of Congregation Emanuel of the Hudson Valley. Since becoming a Bar Mitzvah in November 2014, he has been working to raise money and awareness in order to restore Congregation Emanuel’s Holocaust Torah — a Czech Memorial Scroll Torah #326, that was rescued from the Nazis following the aftermath of World War II and placed in the care of the Kingston, NY synagogue.

On this web site, you can read about the Torah and its history, the status of the restoration project, how to get involved and even make a direct contribution to the project.
